Southern Lakes Heli Ski has exclusive access to big mountain terrain used in The World Heli Challenge so you know it is really big. If the likes of Ingrid Backstrom and Travis Rice can make their mark on it then you and your expert buddies can too.
Situated in Aspiring National Park in Northern Makarora not far from Wanaka, the experts only terrain features open bowls and steep chutes and is the kind of terrain often found in heli ski mecca, Alaska.
Southern Lakes Heli Ski will give you highly experienced NZMGA trained guides in a pristine area few skiers and snowboarders ever get to explore. The company only uses local helicopter pilots who have flown these alps for over thirty years so you are in safe and steady hands.
Group numbers are kept small, no more than five to ten skiers and boarders in semi-private charters, to maximize the Experts Only Package with more than ten untouched runs a day. You can choose your own lines, subject to stability, and you won’t be waiting for other groups to keep up. Put simply, this is the best heli skiing day on offer for those wanting to ski and ride hard.
The Experts Only package starts from AU$1100 per person and includes accommodation transfers, safety equipment, landing fees, 1 to 2 guides, gourmet lunch and helicopter transfers.
